THE CHIEF'S CORNER 

Your Chief's Background with the Club

I (Jim) has been a VIP since the Club's early days. I was the 146th person to become a VIP. Today, with the huge growth of the Club, this number seems unbelievable.

When I upgraded, the Club has no stores. You probably think that for this to be true there also had to be no electricity--but it was actually only a few years ago. All we had back then was an idea, a concept, and some of us believed that the power of the Internet could be harnessed for this goal.

Three years ago, I married Anita, who works alongside me. Together we form a Chief Executive Director unit. We really work together as a team.

The Club is expanding around the world. Dick Burke, our founder and CEO, has his eyes set on the Club becoming a powerful global consumer force. When I became a VIP, Dick expressed this goal, but at that time there was only the concept.

From the concept--the dream, the idea--flows action. First, though, there has to be the concept. Only then can steps be taken to make the concept a reality.

Dick took those steps. So did some of us who arrived early on the scene. Those who grasped that the potential could become reality--and took hold of it and persevered--are being rewarded.

It is no different with yourself. You have to believe that you can do something. (This is the concept.) Then you have to take steps to get there. (This is the action.)

Can YOU be successful in the Club? Of course, you can. Today, we have powerful tools--free with our VIP membership. We have a plan--our "ten steps to prosperity"--already laid out for you.  Follow it.

"Rome wasn't built in a day," is an old saying. It was built brick by brick. So it is with your progress in the Club. To succeed, proceed--step by step, from goal to goal.

Just a note to let everyone one know that recently I have been buying my groceries from Safeway at the Club Shop Mall online.  I want to say that I am very pleased with the great 2 for one bargains that I have been getting there and the prices are very comparable with the other grocery stores in my area.

 They have always delivered the groceries on time and without any damage.

 I highly recommend everyone to make their purchase of groceries from Safeway wherever it is available in their town.
